I think she'll know what these are.
If not, she'll wisely rely on a mycologist -- something I suspect it takes a lifetime to become, with so many variations on the mushroom theme.
Meanwhile, aren't these little ear shapes beautiful!
This sturdy giant hardly seems complete without a caterpillar smoking a hookah atop it. It's nearly as large as a dinner plate.
In contrast, this golf-ball-sized one is actually cute -- though still probably poisonous.
This one looked so much like tomato sauce, garlic bits and a dusting of cheese, it stirred a pizza craving.
This more mature specimen isn't nearly so appetizing, even though its fringe resembles shredded Parmesan cheese.
Even an "Eat me" label wouldn't persuade me to try any of these.
Alice and I both know the best mushroom motto is better safe than sorry.
